Current Top 5 according to Spotify

I liked writing this post, so here’s another one! (why are there six artists in my top 5 i dont get it what is going on here guys)

These are my top 5 6 artists right now. Quite the mix, too. Let’s go through them! Again, with links to Youtube in case you are interested in hearing something new :)

1. E-CraftFeindfahrt
My dear old friend Anders posted up a playlist on Facebook ages ago, with Aggrotech / EBM / Powernoise. E-Craft was one of the artists in the list and I liked them at once. This is my favorite song (from them) at the moment!

2. Corvus CoraxBacchus
I have mentioned Corvus Corax earlier in my blog, I think. They are a german group creating lovely medieval music, among other things. If you haven’t heard them you really should go look up their CD’s Cantus Buranus and Cantus Buranus II, that are music adaptions of Carmina Burana. Such awesome music! We play them as soundtrack when we play Call of Cthulhu, since the music is perfect for cultist meetings and dark summonings ♥
Bacchus is a big favorite for me, and it is AWESOME for dancing!

3. NirvanaThe Man Who Sold the World (David Bowie cover)
I’ve listened to Nirvana since I was 10, and then it was too late. He had already killed himself, which was sad. Nirvana is yet another one of those bands I start listening to when it’s too late :/
Anyway. We were out on a school trip and the guys I liked back then brought a CD player and played Territorial Pissing. I thought it was really funny with that ”squeaky voice” he does at the beginning, so I bought the album pretty soon after that and I’ve been hooked ever since. Kurt has an amaizing voice and I wish he would have stayed with us instead of joining Club 27. Nirvana for me is nostalgia.

4. Haggard – been there, done that. Nevermind them right now ^^

5. NamnambuluHunting
People keep sending me a lot of music. An old friend who’s a DJ once send me a lot of music that I put in my winamp playlist. Since I had about 7k songs in that list I always kept it on random. One evening, and this was back in …hm… 2005? I heard this really cool song playing, but I was in bed and couldn’t be assed with getting up, so I never caught the name of the song or the artist. Then it played again, a couple of days later, and I looked them up. Since I can’t find any proper versions of that song (Forgiving, feat. SITD) I chose my current favorite song by them instead ^^ I think it’s a cute song :3

6. QueenInvisible Man
I have listened to Queen since I was nine. I used to stay with a friend of my parents who lived out in the country side, and she had a VHS tape with Bamse on it. This one time I couldn’t be bothered with turning of the VCR after the Bamse episodes had came to an end, and I realized that there were a lof of music videos on this tape, both before and after Bamse. Birgit or her husband Bror had actually taped ~2 hours of Queen videos, and then also 30 minutes of Bamse. I was hooked! The videos! The music! Everything! …and then I learned that also Freddie had passed on. I still love Queen, and it’s been almost 19 years now. Queen are my all time favorite band and words cannot really express how much I love them.
I chose this video because I think it is awesome. Also, no room can ever be hairier than when filled with Brian Mays :D

Belly dancing, drugs and chip tunes? Seems about right!

The mix of artists and genres here is pretty lol :D But yeah, that is pretty much me: confused when it comes to music, can’t really say I only listen to one thing but instead I listen to everything I like and careface on the rest.

Most of my playlists on Spotify are hidden though, since I kind of still have problems sharing ALL the music I like. Um. You know, when you’ve been bullied through most of school for listening to the ”wrong kind” of music one gets a little… careful with what to let on and not. So. All the embarrassing stuff I listen to is for my eyes only, nyah nyah!

BUT! If anyone is interested I can make you a playlist with some of the more awesome stuff I listen to, because sharing is caring and I like trying to brainwash people into listening to my music ♥

Questions? :P

Current Top 5 according to Spotify

According to my Spotify profile these are the top five artists I am listening to right now, and it looks about right. I’m just happy the more ”embarrassing” artists in my playlists never show up here, haha ^^

So I was thinking ”Why not share?”. Of course people have heard of Sisters of Mercy and Depeche Mode, but still. Perhaps some of you haven’t..?
In case those of you who are interested don’t have Spotify I’ll link you some good songs from Youtube, because then you don’t have any reasons NOT to go listen and perhaps find something new you might like :)

1. PendulumCrush
I’ve only listen to Pendulum for about two months, after asking my friend Jakob for some musical tips. He came up with Pendulum and the album Immersion, and here we are today – Pendulum is number 1 in the current top five.

2. Sisters of MercyMore
My first contact with Sisters of Mercy was when I was 16-17 and a member of a site called Blandband, were people exchanged mixed tapes and CD’s with each other. I had requested some nice goth music and got a CD with 3-4 Sisters’ songs on it (among other goodies, like Siouxsie and the Banshees and Inkubus Sukkubus). Been stuck ever since ^_^

3. HaggardPer Aspera Ad Astra
Haggard was a musical tip from my coworker and friend Mattias, whom told me about them when we were going to Iron Maiden last summer. It took me a while before I looked them up, but when I did I was hooked. Waitaminute, italian metal about Gallileo, with both growl AND clean female song?? Yeah. There’s nothing about this I don’t like :3 They also made a kick-ass italian version of the old swedish song Herr Mannelig (Garmarna has a version of it, check it out).

4. Rhapsody (in fire) – Emerald Sword
I started listening to Rhapsody when I was ~16, and I thought I was WAY cool. Then when I started dating my ex, P, he informed me that they weren’t as cool as I thought, haha. Still, I like them. Rhapsody (currently known as ”Rhapsody in Fire”) is the kind of music that makes me look for the nearest sword to grab so I can run into the woods to kill off some trolls and dragons. Very heroic music. I got their first 5 or 6 albums and I think this is the shit :D

5. Depeche ModeStripped
Well, everyone has head DM. They are played on the radio, for one! Just can’t get enough, Personal Jesus, It’s no good… Yeah, they are nice. But it was when I was watching a documentary about DM when I was about… um… 18-19? that I first heard Stripped, and I was stuck. I love this song, I love how it is put together and I love the lyrics. Love!

Was this a good post? Would you want me to do this more often with my Spotify Top 5? Comment or post vote! (thumbs up/down). Thanks ^_^

Medium rare

We ate at O’Learys yesterday. Had a nice evening, even though we all of a sudden had to watch the swedish takeouts for Eurovision Song Contest. It was awful! I really don’t understand how and why people watch that ridicilous shit volontarily, because my ears and eyes hurt after watching it. People are free to like whatever they want, of course, but yikes. I wasn’t aware it was THAT bad. Had to go home and listen to some real music when we left, because that was just frightening. Meep.

Anywayyyyy. I am really satisfied with the way my hair turned out after dying the roots yesterday! It is a darker brown now, with some red nuances, which is nice. I dyed my eyebrows as well, and this time it didn’t make me look like a clown, woo! As you can see in the picture below I am not always lucky when dying the eyebrows:

I’ll see if I can put up any pictures of the current look. If not before then it will show up sometime during the week, with me taking almost daily snapshots of my current look and all. Like so.

Yes. Um. Got nothing else to add right now ^_^

The shape of things to come

Well, apart from the fact that I have been ill for two weeks and have hardly posted anything at all I am still under the impression that I have lost about 100 readers a day since my switch to english. That is quite contra-productive, seeing as how the plan was to gain readers and not to lose them. Hopefully it is just a glitch due to my absence and nothing else, I kind of enjoy having people read what I have to share ;)

My plan is to start giving off more reviews of movies and books and so forth here. Not only, but as a flavour. I have a LOT of opinions about most of the shit I watch, and it would be fun to share some of it. I am not sure how deep I should get, seeing as how it may be a LOT of spoilers if I go too deep into it, but we’ll see about that. I could always insert a jump and put the spoilers ”after the jump” – also it sounds cool ;)

The thought that triggered this little plan is my rage over bad movie adaptions of Stephen King novels. I have been reading King since I was 9 and I am quite fond of his books, so it kind of pisses me off when the movie is messed up and doesn’t give off the same vibe as the written word. Then again, I have a lot of really good Stephen King movie moments, so it is not all bad. Would this be interesting, or would I only write it to amuse myself and nothing else?

This blog IS an open forum in the way that it needs readers. If I didn’t want your opinions on stuff I would be writing in a book with a pen and keep it locked under my pillow, that kind of diary that I kept when I was young. But blogging is something people do because they want readers and because they want their readers opinions. So, please share your thoughts with me. Book/music/movie/game reviews – Yay or Nay?
